Quick Update 2022-09-01

I’m currently in the process of deploying a new landing page that will replace this blog’s URL. This blog will then move to blog.willhsieh.com. The new site is done, but I’m having issues deploying it.

My Jailbreak Tweaks

Back in February of last year, my friends convinced me to jailbreak my phone (iPhone XS). This was something I was on the edge about, but after unc0ver came out which supported my phone, I decided to give it a shot. Here’s my experience with a jailbroken phone for the last 18 months and why I’ll be updating to iOS 15 in the fall.

Post-Round Decision Making in Valorant

POV: you’re in a 1v4 clutch with only a Classic. The enemy have Vandals, Spectres, and a Yoru with a Shorty. However, because right-clicking exists, you easily win the 1v4 but are left with a crucial choice that may decide the outcome of the game: do you plant the spike or pick up the Vandal?

Creating Instagram Story Effects But Better

One Tuesday evening I was out by the beach trying to get some nice looking drone footage. I got a clip that looked pretty good (given the lighting conditions) and tried to upload it to my Instagram story. However, I wanted to apply an effect to it, which turned out to be impossible.

Spring 2021 Reflection

If you read the previous post Winter 2021 Reflection and Spring 2021 Predictions, the format will look very similar.

How to Create an Excellent Password

When you sign up for an account on any website, you’re probably prompted for a password. The password you use is probably going to be the same password that is used for every one of your other accounts (which is bad).

Unnamed Collection of Random and (Somewhat) Interesting Things

This is a collection of random and (somewhat) interesting things that is a little bit like Tom Scott’s series on “Things You Might Not Have Known.” I’ll be finding one thing every day and updating this post accordingly. My plan is to see how long I can go without dropping a day.

Blender 2D Visualizer | Slow Dancing in the Dark

This song is good and I saw a CGMatter tutorial about creating an audio visualizer in Blender. I wanted to build a 2D Ruben’s tube (Pyro Board) around four years ago, but I couldn’t. This is the next best thing (although I will try to make an actual pyro board in Blender soon).
